About Glenn
Glenn Silverman has been a dedicated public servant for over 30 years. First enlisting in the US Army June 1994, he served 5 years before later working for the City of Charlotte at the Charlotte Coliseum on Tyvola Blvd until its closure on November 11th, 2005.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Belmont Abbey College College and a Masters of Accounting Degree from Gardner Webb University. He currently works for the US Treasury based in Charlotte, NC.
A 25 year resident of Gastonia, Glenn first became involved in community issues regarding wastewater, traffic and speed limits, zoning and safety issues since 2010. He has been a registered voting official at precinct #14 (Gardner Park) since 2018.
Glenn currently serves as the Ward #2 representative on the Gastonia Planning Commission since 2023, where he was appointed by Dr. Dave Kirlin.

The Silverman family has raised four children in Ward #2, where three have graduated from Ashbrook High School. The fourth was selected for the first graduating class of Gaston Early College of Medical Science, where he earned both his HS degree and an Associates of Arts.
​
An Eagle Scout since 1990, he served as the Cubmaster of Pack 36 at Covenant Baptist Church for 6 years and the Scoutmaster of Troop 21 at Myers Memorial United Methodist Church for 8 years.

In addition to his local service, Glenn is an active member of several organizations; including the Charlotte Philatelic Society where he serves as treasurer and youth coordinator. He continues to volunteer as a Merit Badge Counselor to Scouts teaching an average of 25 Scouts annually the enjoyment of the Stamp Collecting hobby.
He previously served as Steward and Western VP for the National Treasury Employees Union. The Silverman family are long time members of Temple Emanuel in Gastonia.
